INDICATIONS
- Relief of symptoms caused by excess gastric acid, such as heartburn, acid regurgitation, indigestion, and related gastrointestinal discomfort.
- Calcium supplementation in cases of dietary deficiency or increased physiological requirements.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Aldults:
- Relief of gastrointestinal symptoms due to excess gastric acid: Chew 2–4 tablets when symptoms occur or as directed by a physician. Do not exceed 10 tablets per day, and do not use the maximum dose for more than 2 weeks.
- Calcium supplementation: Chew 2 tablets twice daily with meals.
- Pregnant women: The total daily calcium intake from diet and supplements should be 1000–1300 mg, and should not exceed 1500 mg of calcium per day.
- Patients with hepatic impairment: No dose adjustment is required.
Patients with renal impairment: Use with caution in patients with mild to moderate renal impairment. In cases of severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance <30 mL/min), the dose should be adjusted according to serum calcium levels. In patients with renal impairment, this medicine should only be used for the management of hyperphosphatemia. The dose should be inpidualized based on serum phosphate levels, and the tablets should be chewed immediately before, during, or after meals to allow binding of dietary phosphate.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Hypersensitivity to any component of the product; Zollinger–Ellison syndrome; patients on a low-phosphate diet; and patients receiving Cardiac glycosides.
- Absolute contraindications: hypercalcemia due to multiple myeloma, metastatic bone cancer or other malignant bone diseases, sarcoidosis, primary hyperparathyroidism, vitamin D overdose, and severe untreated renal impairment or patients undergoing dialysis.
- Relative contraindications: immobilization osteoporosis, nephrolithiasis (kidney stones), and severe hypercalciuria.
