Rheumatoid arthritis: The initial dose of Prednisolone is 5 mg, taken as a single morning dose or on alternate days. The maintenance dose depends on the patient’s response. If there is no adequate response, the dose may be increased by 1 mg on alternate days over several weeks, up to a maximum of 10 mg per day.
Rheumatic carditis: Corticosteroids are used in patients who respond poorly to salicylates or cannot tolerate them at high doses. The usual dose is 1 mg/kg/day, given as a single dose or in pided doses for 7–10 days, followed by a gradual reduction of 2.5 mg/day every 5–7 days.

Asthma and other respiratory disorders:
Prednisolone 5–10 mg daily, given as a single dose or in pided doses. Higher doses may be used temporarily during severe episodes.
The initial adult dose may range from 5 to 60 mg per day, depending on the condition and severity, and is usually pided into 2–4 doses. During maintenance, after symptom improvement, the dose may be reduced by ½ to 1 tablet every 2–3 days.
