INDICATIONS

The indications are based on the antibacterial activity and pharmacokinetic properties of lincomycin.
These indications have been evaluated in clinical studies and in comparison with the sequential use of currently available antibiotics.
This medicinal product is intended for restricted use, mainly in cases of severe infections caused by susceptible organisms, including infections of the ear, nose and throat, bronchopulmonary tract, dental infections, skin, genital tract, bones and joints, postoperative intra-abdominal infections, and septicemia.
Official recommendations on the appropriate use of antibacterial agents should be taken into account.
 

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Route of administration: Oral use.
To achieve optimal absorption, the medicinal product should be taken away from meals, with a fasting period of 1 to 2 hours before and after administration.
Adults: 1.5 g to 2 g per 24 hours.
Children: 30 to 60 mg/kg per 24 hours
 

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity to lincomycin, clindamycin, or to any of the excipients.

Meningeal infections, even when caused by susceptible organisms, due to insufficient penetration of the medicinal product into the cerebrospinal fluid.
