Ho Chi Minh City, 7 May 2025 – STADA Pymepharco, – one of leading pharmaceutical companies in Vietnam and the sole wholly affiliate member of STADA Group (Germany) in Vietnam since 2021, in collaboration with Vietnam Pharmaceutical Association (Hội Dược học Việt Nam), proudly hosted the symposium on "Rational and Effective Use of Antibiotics in Community-acquired Respiratory Infections". This significant event gathered nearly 550 pharmacists and healthcare professionals both onsite in Ho Chi Minh City and virtually across four additional cities, including Hanoi, Thanh Hoa, Da Nang, Gia Lai – emphasizing the widespread commitment to advancing responsible antibiotic use nationwide.
The symposium was also honored by the presence of global and regional leaders from STADA Group, including Ms. Simone Berger, Chief People Officer (CPO) and Mr. Stéphane Jacqmin, Executive Vice President – STADA Emerging Markets. Their participation reflects STADA Group’s strong commitment to empowering healthcare professionals and supporting Vietnam’s healthcare journey.
Focused on practical treatment guidelines and real-world clinical cases, the symposium aimed to strengthen the vital role of pharmacists in promoting responsible antibiotic use. This is a cornerstone in safeguarding respiratory health and combating the growing challenge of antibiotic resistance in the community.
Renowned experts led engaging and insightful discussions on treatment approaches, rational antibiotic selection, and strategies for optimizing clinical outcomes, including:
- Associate Professor Dr. Tran Van Ngoc – Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Lung Society, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Respiratory Society
- Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tuan Dung – Former Head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, Falculty of Pharmacy, University of Medicine and Pharmacy
- Associate Professor Dr. Bui Thi Huong Quynh – Lecturer, Deputy Head of Pharmacy Department, Thong Nhat Hospital.
