📍 Deutsches Haus, Ho Chi Minh City| September 24, 2025
The heart of Ho Chi Minh City’s Deutsches Haus became a hub of dialogue and collaboration as the German Business Association (GBA) hosted a Business Roundtable with H.E. Andrea Sühl, the newly appointed Consul General of Germany to Ho Chi Minh City.
The dialogue brought together GBA board members alongside leaders & representatives of German companies to reflect on both the opportunities and challenges facing the business community in Vietnam today. Discussions covered a wide range of topics – from talent development and sustainability to customs procedures and intellectual property – highlighting both the diversity and the resilience of German enterprises operating in Vietnam.
Head of Public Affairs & Communications, Mr. Bui Hong Minh, represented for STADA Pymepharco to join the Business Roundtable. From his perspective, for the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector, topics such as transparent regulations, strong intellectual property protection, and smoother import/export under the Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) are especially relevant. While FTAs like EVFTA have opened opportunities, technical and procedural hurdles remain – factors that directly shape the ability to deliver healthcare solutions to patients in Vietnam and international markets.

A key takeaway from the roundtable was how many of these topics connect back to government affairs and regulatory governance. Constructive dialogue with policymakers is essential, and this is where the GBA can play a vital role: providing a trusted platform for engagement, fostering mutual understanding, and enabling the German business community to advocate with a stronger collective voice.
At STADA Pymepharco, alongside the wider German business community, we remain committed to constructively supporting Vietnam–Germany economic ties and contributing to a regulatory environment that creates sustainable value for patients, partners, and society.
